CONTACT COMMANDER TIM
Greetings earthlings! If you would like to contact Commander Tim, CountZer0, or any of the other guests of the show, please email podcast@commandertim.com!
Remember, we love getting questions, angry letters of disapproval, and cake.
We made it. Episode 100. Sgt. Blogkitten, Edgey, The Big V Racingfreak, Mr. D and AMD all join in for an epic 3 hour show. Thank you to everyone that got us here. This show only gets better and better. Oh, and when you’re done with the show, remember: Fuck Patches.
Episode 99 is here! Quite a successful impromptu call-in show, if I do say so myself. Right off the bat, we’re joined by CountZer0’s better half (or side if you ask Edgey), Vicky! Yes ladies and gentlemen, she is real. Next up, for the first time in Commander Tim call-in history, we’ve got Metatron on the line talking about getting a new gaming computer. And last, but certainly not least, all the way from Aberdeen, we have Soupdog50 joining us for some listener mail. We also drop the awesome (well, I do it a little early) of who the big winner of the “Win an Illustration by Edgey” donation drive contest. And remember, episode 100 needs some extra time in the oven, so it’s gonna be a tad late making it out. We’ll talk to you in a couple weeks!
Yep, yep, yep… so there it is. The computer setup that I’ve been obsessing over, talking over, and endlessly prattling on about for months. Now, that alone would supply enough material to talk about, one would think. However, since “good enough” isn’t in our vocabulary here at Pink Ninja, I decided to call in a few co-hosts as well. First up, we’ve got the illustrious Edgey back with us once again. Next, and certainly not least, I’ve also dragged in the big V… Racingfreak. He too just recently built a new computer… and apparently a case of Bawls that he drank in one sitting, because he is WIRED! So, listen and enjoy our arguments about framerates, good games, old games, and idle/load temps.
I’ve got to warn you that this episode is a marathon session of podcasting hotness. We were going to stop after the usual 90 minutes…. but we were enjoying the nonsense that Big V was spilling too much, and wanted to see what crazy heights he’d climb to.
Everybody join me in welcoming back CountZer0! And dear Carmack is he drunk. This is funny. Slury nerd debates and the usual arguments between us. All this from TWO BEERS while we recorded. Lightweight.
This episode is special. Like special olympics. So there I was, hanging out on AIM with more than a few drinks in me, thinking about what I was going to do for a show since Jason wasn’t able to record one this past Sunday… then Edgey popped online. Brief chat about E3, insults exchanged, viola; Edgey’s on the show. But I didn’t stop there. I threw it out to anybody who was around on the forum to be on Skype when we were recording. So, we’ve also got Racingfreak and Dave Buncha Numbers on the show. And let me tell you; it devolved fast. In closing, what you’re about to hear is over two hours of an insult laiden Skype conversation that we’re passing off as a show. Sure, there’s lots of E3 2008 talk. Sure, there’s plenty of viewer mail read. But most of all, there’s tons of insults hurled at each other for 120 minutes. Now if that’s not a reason to listen; I don’t know what is.
What up people?!? Quick and dirty post this time. On this episode, Kevin Belton (aka DrKillJoy) and Carolyn join me for a total off-the-cuff PC building nerd-out. I finally settled on the components of the new PC build, and since Carolyn now has her iBook as her portable, I share my thoughts on using the Eee PC as the ultimate portable Windows XP machine. Big caution on this one; we are NERDS. Lots of speeds and feeds talk. So unless intricate conversations about how you should choose your next power supply purchase is of interest to you, best to steer clear. But listen anyway, you know you want to.
Yes, the patience has paid off. This is Commander Tim Cast 93, and I must tell you now, it is sans CountZer0. Jason was off hunting zebra in the wilds of Africa this week, so to make sure that our audience received nothing but the highest quality show, we brought in the big gun…
This episode is also different in the fact that it was recorded on my aging Powerbook G4, as my PC is officially dead. Like dead dead. It’s done. It’s over. I have been forced to retire the machine that was responsible for recording every single piece of podcasting I have ever done since 2005. Tis a sad day. Except for one thing… recording on the Mac is quite nice. This ep, new computer talk, some Wii conversation, Microsoft XBox rumors, an explanation as to just WTF those things in the picture are (thanks Vicky!), and so much more. What are you waiting for? Listen now! No show links this week because the conversations were pretty off the cuff, so there’s not much to link to.
