The Widget is dead… long live The Widget!
Well, it’s finally over. Today, Ryan, Jason and I sat down and recorded what for the forseeable future is the last Widget episode. Were we all sad and weepy about it? Nope. Actually, it felt like a huge weight was lifted off our shoulders. We said it from the very start; once the show was no longer fun, it was over. And, true to our word, it was no longer fun, so we put a bullet in the head.
It was a great ride. I met some really fantastic people that I hope to remain friends with for a very long time. So much has changed since we started recording the show in Zane’s computer room back in July of 2005. It’s pretty amazing really. But, like all good things, it needed to end.
Thank you to everyone that listened, laughed, and enjoyed our little show.
Good times. They sure will be missed.
Dissapointing, but understandable,
am gonna miss my weekly fix of the widget though.
Still, nice to see you’re happy
Sad to hear it’s over (hopefully just for now!). I’ve enjoyed the show over the past year … I’m probably one of the rare women that doesn’t actually mind when you’re “foul as shit”. Always had me laughing at work, loved the longer format … and though the blogs are here I’ll miss your voices. Have fun guys.

Heh, how many geeks can say they hung out with John Romero & John Hall? The Widget was by no means little. It’s the model of how unscripted, amateur productions can be better, funnier, and more informative (yes, I know you’re calling bullshit) than their corporate counter-parts. Well anyway, just wanted to let you know your show embodied what the whole spirit of podcasting and amature media in general is supposed to be. I think you guys could’ve continued and made the widget into something very big, but I guess it comes down to doing what makes you happy. Good luck in MN, and see you on the Widget forum.
Yeah, this was by no means a small show. 80,000 listeners, thats an amazing achievemnet in 1 year. I’ve been listening since Ep.1 and have loved every minute. Rarely has an indie podcast with humble beginnings managed to beat the corporate podcasts at their own game. I feel a very strong connection with The Widget community, and hope that the friendships made last. If you did not listen to the show, mnake sure you find it and listen to the back episodes. You will not be disappointed. http://www.thewidgetshow.com

Go Tim, Go Tim, It’s you’re birthday!
Sorry to see the end bud. You’ve given me many an hours of enjoyment and I hope the mic hasn’t been hung up forever, you’ve got the voice for it.
